PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vibration-damping Mn alloy having stable vibration- damping properties; a method for producing the alloy without fail; and vibration- damping parts or goods using the alloy.;SOLUTION: This vibration-damping alloy comprises 16.9-27.7 wt.% Cu, 2.1-8.2 wt.% Ni, 1.0-2.9 wt.% Fe, 0.05 wt.% or lower C, 0.06 wt.% or lower O, 0.06 wt.% or lower N, and the balance being Mn and unavoidable impurities. Since the amount of generated non-metallic inclusions, such as carbides, decreases and gives a clean Mn-base alloy, the generation of twin structures in the heat treatment is accelerated. Since the factors inhibiting the movement of the twin structures under stress decreases, the vibration-damping properties can be improved.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
