PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a homogeneous solidified compact having uniformity of inner structure and mechanical properties, in different positions on a face on which the compression shearing force has been applied, and to provide a method for safely and easily manufacturing the solidified compact of which the surface is crystallized by compression shearing.;SOLUTION: The solidified compact with the crystalline surface has a composite structure consisting of crystalline structure in surface layers, and amorphous structure in an inner layer sandwiched by the surface layers. The forming method comprises sandwiching the material between a pair of compacting tools having faces which face each other, and relatively moving each other of the compacting tools once or several times, so as to make the moving direction of one face parallel to the other face of compressing the material, and the directions cross to a pressing direction, while compressing the material with a pressing force added to either one or both of the compacting tools, to solidify and compact the material by the compression shearing.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
