PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high-speed full color electrophotographic image forming apparatus having high durability, capable of forming a stable image in repeated use, and equipped with an inexpensive image forming element, especially, an image forming element for forming a black image, and to provide an image forming method using the image forming apparatus.;SOLUTION: In this full color electrophotographic image forming apparatus where a plurality of image forming elements equipped with at least an electrifying means, an image exposure means, a developing means and an electrophotographic photoreceptor are arrayed, the outer circumference of the photoreceptor provided in the image forming element for forming the black toner image is set to be longer than that of the photoreceptors provided in the image forming elements for forming the toner image other than the black toner image, and the electrifying member provided in the image forming element for forming the black toner image is set so that its surface is arranged proximately to the surface of the photoreceptor in a non-contact state.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
