PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an Ethernet switchboard management system allowed to be executed on-line and a switchboard for the Ethernet.;SOLUTION: The Ethernet switchboard 50 is linked to a server terminal 44 by using a network interface circuit to transmit/receive data packets between a client terminal 40 and the server terminal 44. The switchboard 50 receives a network management packet transmitted from the server terminal 44 and sets up a management value of an SNMP agreement management database (MIB). The switchboard 50 monitors and controls the network interface circuit on the basis of the management value of the MIB. A network supervisor analyzes the test result of the network interface circuit and manages the switchboard 50 on-line.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
