PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data backup system where a switch for performing data copy processing transmits data to a backup device at the same time of its communication and the backup device automatically stores the data. SOLUTION: In the data backup system 100 of this invention, the switch 120-1 includes; a copy section 220 for copying a packet received from a sending user PC 110; a packet header conversion section 240 for converting first header information of the packet into second header information of a header information storage section 230; and a packet transmission section for transmitting the packet after the conversion to an IP network 160. The data backup device 130 receives and stores the packet transmitted from the packet transmission section.
