PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a large-scale pump station which uses an axial flow pump or a jet flow pump being constructed in one body with a channel, wherein the large-scale pump station can minimize pulsating current when an excitation frequency generated by the pump falls in the vicinity of a resonance frequency of a water column in the channel, to thereby prevent occurrence of troubles caused by vibrations and noises.;SOLUTION: According to the large-scale pump station, if the excitation frequency generated by the pump (1) falls in the vicinity of the resonance frequency of the water column in the channel, measurement is carried out along a water way on an upstream side of a location of an antinode (12) of a pressure vibration mode generated in the water way (11 to 12), and the pump (1) is set such that a blade rear edge (c) of a pump impeller (14) falls in a range from a location corresponding to 0.15 times a wavelength (λ) of the excitation vibration (fv) to a location corresponding to the antinode (12) of a vibration.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
