PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide accurate measurement of a rolling and lathing parameter in railway vehicle wheels for obtaining numerical expression over both sides of the profile of the wheel by using an optical and artificial viewing technology.;SOLUTION: In this rolling and lathing parameter measurement device for railway vehicle wheels 2, both side faces of a flange and a rotational band can be viewed by means of an artificial viewing method using two laser light sources 2 individually radiating light beams along an outline to be measured. A camera 4 captures both sides of an outline 3 irradiated with the assistance of two mirror periscope systems 5 at the same time. Depending on designing of the periscope, both of the flange and the rotational band can be seen simultaneously by means of a single camera. A pair of wheel existence sensors 10 activates image capture with the camera. The respective captured images are transmitted to an electronic artificial viewing device 6, wherein two profile images including the recorded image are constructed, and consequently, a complete profile is produced.
