PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for effectively producing a D-amino acid from a 5-substituted hydantoin, by isolating a D-hydantoin hydrolase gene and an N-carbamyl-D-amino acid hydrolase gene relating to competence of transforming the 5-substituted hydantoin into the D-amino acid from microorganisms which have the transformation competence and forming a recombinant which is enhanced in a production amount of an aimed enzyme through enhancement of gene amplification, transcription, and translation activities.;SOLUTION: In this method for producing the D-amino acid, a DNA which has a specified base sequence (refer to the specification) and codes a protein having D-hydantoin hydrolase activity and/or another DNA which has another specified base sequence (refer to the specification) and codes another protein having N-carbamyl-D-amino acid hydrolase activity are used.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
