PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information collating device, with which various kinds of information can be appropriately acquired from an image server by preventing an illegal patient ID from being registered into the image server. SOLUTION: In the character collating device for collating character information, which is added to inputted image information, with specified character information in a character information storage means storing the specified character information and attached information corresponding to the specified character information, this device has a correction means for collating the inputted character information with the specified character information and correcting the form of the character information to the form of the specified character information when the form of the character information is different from the form of the specified character information and a control means for acquiring the attached information by retrieving the character information storage means on the basis of the corrected character information corrected by the correction means, applying the attached information to the image information together with the corrected character information and afterwards recording the image information on the prescribed recording medium. Thus, character information (patient ID) is corrected, image information can be recycled and efficiency in reading work can be improved.
