PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for generating an electric power by a pyrolytic gasification reaction product of coal, which makes it possible to generate the electric power at a high efficiency and at a low installation cast by using a coal, particularly a low-grade coal having a high moisture content.;SOLUTION: This method for generating the electric power comprises a power generation process wherein the fuel used comprises a pyrolytic gasification reaction product generated from a coal pyrolytic gasifier in which coal is blown into a high-temperature gas generated from a high-temperature gasifier by the gasification of coal with oxygen to effect the rapid heating and pyrolysis reaction of coal in a gas stream layer, and wherein the produced gas is used as the fuel for combined cycle power generation with a gas turbine and a steam turbine, while the produced char is used as the fuel for coal burning power generation with a coal burning boiler and a steam turbine, so that highly efficient power generation can be realized.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
