PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an index to judgment, in a powder compacting process for metal powder, as to whether the metal powder is applicable to a warm die lubrication process and whether a large effect can be produced even in the case of compaction where a lubricant is added and hereby to inexpensively produce a high-density green compact.;SOLUTION: In the powder compacting process where raw-material powder in a die cavity is pressed to form the green compact, the work hardening exponent n-value of pure-metal powder or alloy powder of highest content in the raw-material powder is used as an index, and the raw-material powder having ≥0.3 n-value is heated and pressed and the raw-material powder having 0.3 n-value is pressed at ordinary temperature.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
