APPARATUS FOR SETTING ADJUSTED VALUE OF PRELIMINARY DRAFT WITH DRAFTING APPARATUS FOR SLIVER SUCH AS DRAWING FRAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the regulation of a drafting apparatus.;SOLUTION: This drafting apparatus is capable of changing the ratio of peripheral speeds of an intermediate lower roller and a lower roller on the inlet side of the drafting apparatus in order to change the draft. Furthermore, the drafting apparatus is capable of recording measured values characterizing drafting force in a principal drafting region and/or a preliminary drafting region and calculating the set point of the preliminary draft with the drafting apparatus for slivers such as a drawing frame. A special driving motor is installed so as to drive an intermediate roller pair and a value characterizing the drafting force can be measured with an intermediate driving motor. A function between the measured values characterizing the drafting force and the preliminary draft value can be calculated. An upgrade end point to an upgrade end region produce one parameter considered for controlling the optimum preliminary draft value of the drafting apparatus.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
