PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an online search system, by which the processing efficiency in a client terminal can be improved and the communication cost can be reduced. SOLUTION: A session managing agent 103 for managing session information for specifying a series of processing for a search requested by a client terminal 106 is generated by the client terminal 106 and moved to an agent server 102, a search agent 104 for retrieving a database 105A is generated inside the agent server 102 by the session managing agent 103, and the result retrieved by the search agent 104 is transmitted to the client terminal 106. When a series of processing are finished, the session managing agent 103 is deleted.
