PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a Karaoke system devised so that a portable telephone can be used as a remote controller by using the functions of the portable telephone without making particular alterations to a customer's portable telephone (portable terminal device).;SOLUTION: The Karaoke system 100 is provided with portable telephones 10, 11 comprising a function for connecting to the Internet, a Web server 20 which is connected with a network accessible from the portable terminal device and provides the terminal device with the remote control information, a Karaoke device 40 to be remote-controlled by a remote control signal transmitted from a remote controller 43, and remote control adaptors 30, 31 which receive the remote control information from the portable terminal device, convert the information into the remote control signal transmitted from the remote controller and transmit the signal to the Karaoke device.
