PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tracing-back method, a device, and a program for cause investigation which can present a user group and an item group directly causing the extraction of an introduction item and a recording medium where the tracing-back program for the cause investigation is recorded.;SOLUTION: To investigate the cause of the extraction of the introduction item, this featured method comprises; selecting the introduction item which is extracted from an introduction item group and whose cause is to be investigated as a cause-investigated item (ST1) and then extracting users out of a user group having accessed an introduction source item group in a user group having accessed the introduction item (ST2), extracting items in the introduction source item group in an item group that the extracted user group has accessed by using a user-item map (ST3), and outputting the extracted item group and user group (ST4).;COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
