PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a substrate for DNA chips, its manufacturing method, and a DNA chip manufacturing method using the chips capable of shortening manufacturing time, reducing manufacturing cost, and reliably performing a duplication process.;SOLUTION: In the substrate and a duplication method, regions on the substrate each corresponding to a cell on the matrix DNA chip are regulated in such a way as to be hydrophilic in transcription, and the cells in which the regions are surrounded with hydrophobic regions are transcribed by direct contact from the matrix DNA chip through the use of a substrate for a constitution DNA chip while the relative location of each cell on the chip is maintained.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
