PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for estimating and evaluating corrosion rate of steel products by non-destructively measuring an evaluation test piece exposed to an atmospheric environment and estimating the corrosion rate of the steel products.;SOLUTION: The method for estimating the corrosion rate of a steel product and the corrosion evaluating method comprise a process for holding the evaluation test piece in a sealed container at a constant temperature and a constant humidity, a process for measuring a pressure decreasing speed in the sealed container, a process for computing an oxygen consumption rate on the basis of the measured pressure decrease rate, and a process for deriving the corrosion rate from the relation between the oxygen consumption rate and actual corrosion rate previously obtained from the oxygen consumption rate.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
