PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of detecting the lowering of the pneumatic pressure of the tire capable of increasing the accuracy of detection of the pressure reduction of the tire.;SOLUTION: In this method of detecting the lowering of the pneumatic pressure of the tire, the lowering of the internal pressure of the tire is detected based on the information on rotation obtained from the tire installed on a vehicle. The method comprises the steps of updating the initial value of the tire and writing the updated initial value in a nonvolatile storage device based on the relation between the number of counts for request of writing the updated initial values in the nonvolatile storage device and the speed of the vehicle.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
