PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cogeneration system in which solid combustibles of poor quality can be easily used and beside solid burnable wastes generated in the environs thereof can be used as fuel.;SOLUTION: The system is so constituted that AC power generated by a generator 13 driven by a heat engine is once converted to DC power and further to a required frequency, and that the exhaust heat generated in the system is effectively used for hot water supply and other purposes as well. Here the heat engine is a steam turbine 12 driven by steam generated by heat produced by combustion of combustibles, and the combustion part is so constructed that raw or dried solid burnable wastes can be easily burnt without causing any trouble to operation and maintenance of the associated equipment. A waste drier to dry the solid burnable waste by the exhaust heat produced by the cogeneration system on a small scale is incorporated. And as the solid burnable wastes, ones produced in the vicinity of the cogeneration system on a small scale are preferably used.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
