PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for the incinerating wastes with high halogen content in way generating low corrosion and low emission at a waste incineration plant.;SOLUTION: Incineration equipment has at least one combustion chamber 3 and 4, waste heat boiler 5, and a multistage flue gas scrubber composed of acidic and alkaline scrubbers 7 and 8, and adds sulfur 18 to the chambers 3 and 4 by controlling the quantity of the sulfur 18. The quantity of the sulfur 18 is controlled in proportion to the whole halogen load contained in a flue gas, and the sulfur 18 generates SO2 when it is burnt in the chambers 3 and 4. All of the generated SO2 suppresses halogens in the flue gas and, successively, gives stable halogens to the alkaline scrubber 8. The SO2 content required in the flue of the incineration equipment varies depending upon the kinds of the halogens. The added quantity of the sulfur 18 to the combustion chambers 3 and 4 is controlled through a simple primary control circuit, so that the quantity of SO2 left in the flue gas may be maintained at the quantity required for the normal operation of the incineration equipment. When the whole halogen load abruptly changes, the primary control circuit is expanded by initiatively controlling the supplying destination.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
