PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a powdery ceramic raw material with a compound of a metal element for modifying electrical characteristics and a compound of a metal element for enhancing formed on the surface of each powder particle of a ceramic basic composition without impairing their functions.;SOLUTION: A powdery basic composition which constitutes the principal component of the powdery ceramic raw material, a first organometallic compound soluble in an organic solvent and containing a metal element for modifying the electrical characteristics of the powdery basic composition and a second organometallic compound soluble in the organic solvent and containing a metal element for enhancing the sinterability of the powdery basic composition are mixed and comminuted together with the organic solvent to prepare a slurry. The organic solvent is removed from the slurry to obtain the powdery basic composition with the first and second organometallic compounds sticking to the surface of its particles. This powdery basic composition is heat-treated at a temperature above the decomposition temperature of the first organometallic compound and below that of the second organometallic compound.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
