PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of controlling the decomposition speed of a biodegradable resin, a biodegradable resin composition or a shaped article obtained therefrom and to provide a biodegradable resin, a biodegradable resin composition or a shaped article obtained therefrom having a controlled decomposition speed. SOLUTION: The method of controlling the decomposition speed of the biodegradable resin, the biodegradable resin composition or the shaped article obtained therefrom is to irradiate them with an active energy beam. The biodegradable resin, the biodegradable resin composition or the shaped article obtained therefrom of which the decomposition speed is controlled by the method is also provided.
