PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To implement a reinforcing structure for an RC rigid frame elevated bridge, by using a metallic gate-type rigid frame structure which can cope with a live load and an earthquake load. ;SOLUTION: In construction of the metallic gate-type rigid frame structure 1, a beam portion 3 is fastened to a bridge axial beam 8 of a bridge axial rigid frame structure 5 in a manner making contact with the same. Thereafter, foundation concrete 11 is placed on an upper bed of a footing 10, and a foot portion 2a of a column portion 2 is mounted on the concrete, followed by fastening the column portion 2 and the beam portion 3 together and the column portion 2 and an inner surface of a pier 7 together. When a connecting beam 13 is arranged between the foot portions of the metallic gate-type rigid frame structure 1, the connecting beam 13 is mounted on an upper surface of the foundation concrete 11, and then it is fastened to the column portion 2. In construction of a caisson, two units of the metallic gate-type rigid frame structure 1 each with an inner wall surface and the connecting beam 13 are arranged in parallel with each other, as a frame, and a ceiling, side wall surfaces, and a floor slab are set in the frame. Thereafter, the caisson is subjected to interior finishing, and the resultant caisson is inserted into the RC rigid frame elevated bridge 4.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
