PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a content reproducing method and device by which information with respect to a viewing position at stop is stored when the reproduction of content during reproduction is stopped and remote reproducing equipment is enabled to repro duce the content from the viewing position.;SOLUTION: When communication equipment 100 receives a content stop request during reproduction of content, the reproduction of content is stopped and a viewing position storage section 105 stores information with respect to content viewing positions at stop. When the remote reproducing equipment 200 receives a content reproducing request, the remote reproducing equipment 200 transmits the content reproduction request to the communication equipment 100. When the communication equipment 100 receives the content reproduction request, the communication equipment 100 references information with respect to the viewing position stored in the viewing position storage section 105 to identify contents viewing positions, reads the identified content from a contents storage section 104, transmits the content to the remote reproducing equipment 200 and the remote reproducing equipment 200 receives and reproduces the content.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
