PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a user to easily select a scene at viewing of the moving picture by detecting a change in an audio mode and using the change at reproduction as a scene change point of a moving picture.;SOLUTION: An audio mode detection section 4-4 detects an audio mode signal superimposed on audio received synchronously with a moving picture, a frame acquisition section 4-3 extracts a frame of the received moving picture in an optional timing as a still picture, a time count section 4-2 counts a relative time from the start of detection. A main control section 4-1 compares the audio mode signal detected in an optional timing with audio mode signal for a scene where scene information is recorded just before and determines whether or not they are coincident. The main control section 4-1 determines it to be a scene change when the audio mode signals are not coincident to store a video frame and an elapsed time at that point of time to a scene information management database 4-7 as the scene information.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
