ROUTE ESTABLISHING METHOD AND NAME SOLVING METHOD IN AD HOC NETWORK SYSTEM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a route establishing method or a name solving method, which can conduct an access transparently in a system where an ad hoc network is connected to Internet via a gateway host, without recognizing whether the host exists in the ad hoc network or the permanent network. SOLUTION: A gateway host is configured so that an adjacent host is selected to bring a communication path of the shortest hop number. The gateway host receives a route establishing request signal transmitted from a host, and then, if a destination host of the route establishing request signal is a host connected to Internet, the gateway host transmits a reception response signal to the transmission source host of the route establishing request signal, in which hop number is set to MAX+1 bigger than the maximum value MAX. When the host moves from an ad hoc network to Internet, a communication path in the ad hoc network is selected.
