Floor tile (1) has frame (2) attached to its bottom using glue (3). Frame is attached to tile so that plane (A) through points of reference (4) on upper surface of tile runs parallel to lower side (5) of frame, or supporting surface (B). Distance (Z) between center lines of two adjacently situated tiles is equal to the sum of the distance (X) between the one edge of frame and center of floor tiles situated along that edge on one hand, and distance between opposite edge of frame and center of floor tile situated along that edge on other hand. Because of this, width of joint desired, corresponding to width of joint between floor tiles situated next to one another of same element, is automatically obtained between floor tiles lying next to one another element. An Independent claim is also included for the method for manufacturing a floor or wall element.
