The present invention relates to a recombinant plant nuclear or mitochondrial genome comprising: a) a DNA sequence defined by nucleotides No. 928 through 1569 according to the figure 1 -SEQ ID NO: 1 or b) a DNA sequence encoding a translation protein product identical with those that is encoded, wherein said sequence imparts cytoplasmic male sterility to a plant in the mitochondrial genome of which is present, wherein the recombinant genome does not contain functional copy of the gene from Ogur genome, wherein said gene from the Ogur genome is defined as follows: i) gene for formylmethionine-transfer RNA used for translation initiation that is characterized in that after NruI splitting it provides a DNA fragment with the size of 15 kilo bases or after SalI splitting it provided a DNA fragment with the size of 5.1 kilo bases and both the fragments can be visualized by hybridization using a probe corresponding to the sequence being defined by nucleotides 389 to 1199 in the sequence depicted in the figure 1 -SEQ ID NO: 1 or ii) Cox1 gene encoding a subunit No. 1 of cytochrome oxidase, that is characterized in that after BglI splitting it provides a DNA fragment with the size of 10.7 kilo bases or after NruI splitting it provides a DNA fragment with the size of 11 kilo bases and both the fragments can be visualized by hybridization using the Cox1 probe.
