A method for finding a cluster of targets, the method performed by a flying vehicle and comprising the steps of: having at least the expected inertial location of said cluster of targets; scanning with a vehicle sensor an area of interest in the general vicinity of said expected inertial location a number of times, wherein each time the sensor scans across the direction of flight fast enough to finish a sweep before said vehicle flies the distance covered by the footprint of the sensor on the ground and wherein the range from the vehicle to the terrain is generally constant for each scan and is only changed between scans; estimating, from the output of said step of scanning, an estimated location and shape of said cluster; scanning, with said sensor, at least once, generally an area covering said estimated shape and location of said cluster; and identifying a more detailed location and shape of said cluster. 4111 י' באדר א' התשס" ג - February 12, 2003
