The valve comprises a pressure-resistant cavity (2) filled with gas and having an inlet opening (1) in its upper part which can be sealed by a float (5) located inside the cavity. The float seals the inlet opening once the liquid inside the cavity has risen to a level where the gas phase inside the cavity has been compressed to a pressure higher than the pressure of the liquid entering the cavity. An outlet opening (3) provided in the bottom side of the cavity prevents the escape of gas due to the weight of liquid acting upon the cavity base.
