The gift voucher has an unrestricted value and during payment to a participant (2, 3) in the gift voucher system using the voucher, the value of the latter is fixed according to pre-determined criteria. An Independent claim is also included for a gift voucher system in which a third party (5) uses the voucher for payment, including a computer programmed for recording which participants in the system are paid with the vouchers and the established value of the vouchers in question.
