At least one mounting plate (7) for an item of street furniture such as a bicycle storage unit or fence can be releasably secured around the inner column (1) of the bollard. The bollard has an inner column which is anchored in the ground and has its top end sealed with a closure part. The inner column is enclosed by a mantle over at least part of its length, the mantle being sealed by one or more closure parts (5, 6). At least two spacer parts (3a, 3b) are provided between the inner column and mantle.
