The invention relates to a piece of office furniture, comprising at least two separate columns, in hollow section tube, with, at least on the vertical tube sides facing each other, two rows of slots in which arched linking elements may be hung, whose sidearms terminate with correspondingly spaced mounting hooks. An additional furniture board is thus easily mounted between a pair of columns, in that a furniture board may be brought between two columns which, on the underside thereof, near the narrow face facing the columns, is connected to hinged stays. Said hinged stays are connected to jointed carrying arms, with a limited range of movement, the hinged axis being parallel to the longitudinal side of the furniture board.
