A method for treating organic wastes, comprising mixing the waste with a mold, such as koji mold, allowing the mold to grow with dominance to ferment and dry the mixture wherein the oil content of the mixture is at least 3 wt% with respect to the water content of the mixture. The method can result in the production of an animal feed.
