Oligosaccharides (I), containing a terminal 1,6-anhydro-2-deoxy-2-amino- beta -D-mannopyranose unit, are new. Oligosaccharides of formula (I) and their mixtures and diastereomers, containing a terminal 1,6-anhydro-2-deoxy-2-amino- beta -D-mannopyranose unit, are new. n = 0-25; R1, R3-R5 = H or SO3M; R2, R6 = H, SO3M or COMe, and M = Na, Ca, Mg or K. An Independent claim is included for the preparation of (I).
