The scraper comprises a frame (1) with a hanger device (2) at one end for releasably connecting it to a movable arm (3) of a vehicle, e.g. a wheel truck. The other end of the frame supports a blade (4) which extends in the vehicle cross-direction and has a position which can be altered relative to the arm. A tilt device (10) between the hanger device and a first frame section (9) is connected to a drive device (17) so that the frame section can be rotated about an axis extending parallel to the travelling direction of the vehicle. A second frame section (18) is pivotally connected to the first frame section, enabling it to be rotated about a substantially vertical axis (19) extending at right angles to the travelling direction of the vehicle, with the aid of a drive device (24, 25) between the first and second frame sections. A third frame section (28) at the free end of the second frame section can be moved sideways along an axis extending in the vehicle cross-direction, substantially parallel to the horizontal plane, using a drive device between the second and third frame sections. The blade is pivotally connected to the third frame section via an axis extending parallel to the movement axis for this frame section, using a drive device between the blade and this frame section.
