The method is for attracting attention that a person is located within reach by short range communication system. It incorporates at least two units with interchange signalling and functions within a dating system. The steps within the method involve an enquiry (10) as to whether a unit is in the locality, the transmission (11) of identity of the sensor if a unit is located in the vicinity, the receipt (12) of the identity from the unit in the locality and comparison (13) of the received identity with a list of identities in relation to which unsuccessful contact efforts have been made. A reminder (14) is given if the received identity occurs in the list showing that the person connected to that identity is in the locality. The enquiry can be made at periodical time intervals. The identities can consist of a telephone number, an E-mail address, or an IP address. The reminder consists of a vibrating or ringing signal.
