Flour dust is removed from bakery processing stations by an extraction unit (6) and at least one extraction line (17, 19, 24, 29, 30, 33) connected to it and extending to the points (1-5) at which the flour dust is generated. Shut off valves (18, 22) are provided for operation when extraction is not required. Pref. the extraction unit is fitted with a fan (7) and a flour separator (8, 9, 11) which is a multistage system including a bag filter and a cyclone separator. Dust exposure levels can be significantly reduced with the system implemented.
