A device for gas exchange in liquids has a structure such as a breathing organ of certain water insects with liquid-repelling micro-fibers fixed to one side of a base body which is partially permeable for gases. An Independent claim is also included for the production of the device comprising applying liquid-repelling micro-fibers to one side of a base body which is partially permeable for gases. Preferred Features: The micro-fibers have a fineness of 0.1-50 dtex and a diameter to length ratio of 1: 2.5-10000. The micro-fiber base body has openings having a cross-sectional surface of 0.1 microns2 to 1 mm2. The gas permeability of the base body is achieved using materials having gas-permeable properties. The base body is a plastic or metal foil, or a flat structure made from ceramic materials.
