A polymeric silicone composition of low water content formed by polymerizing a monomer mixture containing monomer units represented by Formula I: where: A is an ethylenically unsaturated group; R and D independently are alkylene or haloalkylene groups having 1 to 10 carbon atoms where said carbon atoms may include ether linkages therebetween; M is hydrogen, fluorine or an alkyl group; R1, R2, R3 and R4 are independently alkyl or haloalkyl which may include ether linkages between carbon atoms; siloxane groups; or carbocyclic ring groups of 6 to 18 carbon atoms; m is an integer from 1 to 500; n is an integer from 1 to 20; x and y are 0 or 1; z is 1 or 2; x + y + z = 3; to the extent that at least one of R1 or R2 is an alkyl group of 1 to 10 carbon atoms.
