METHOD OF MAKING SBR THERMOPLASTIC ELASTOMERS

A method of making a thermoplastic elastomercomposition produced by dynamic vulcanization of SBR as adispersed phase of cross linked SBR, and a co-continuousmatrix of SEBS and polypropylene. The dynamic vulcanizationstep takes place under conditions of shear and temperature toreach the decomposition point of crosslinked SBR, at whichtime the crosslinking reaction is quenched. Compositions ofsuperior properties are achieved using this method.
