A thrust vectoring axisymmetric vectoring exhaustnozzle having universally pivoting divergent flaps isprovided with a surrounding thermal shield ofoverlapping outer flaps and seals generally disposed inan aftwards converging conical arrangement and having ameans for changing its shape from axisymmetrical toasymmetrical. Additional thermal and cooling protectionis provided by a series of ejector slots located on thedivergent universally pivotal flaps and adjacentinterflap seals of the nozzle to both cool and thermallyshield the flaps and seals.
