WARP-KNIT CASTING BANDAGE FABRIC, WARP-KNIT CASTING BANDAGE AND METHOD FOR MAKING BANDAGE

A warp-knit castingbandage fabric is providedwhich comprises a first groupof a plurality of individualcontinuous multifilamentfiberglass yarns (10) whichform lengthwise extendingchains of spaced-apart loopsand a second group ofa plurality of individualcontinuous multifilamentfiberglass yarns (16) whichare separately interspersedwith a plurality of individualcontinuous thermoplasticyarns (14) forming awidthwise extending andlengthwise spaced-apartinlay which is interlacedwith the spaced-apartloops forming an open-knitconstruction wherein thecontinuous thermoplasticyarns comprise from about50 % to about 100 % of thetotal number of individualyarns forming the inlay. An elongated, resin-impregnated bandage, having a leading edge and a trailing edge, made from the warp-knitcasting bandage fabric is also provided as well as a method for forming such resin-impregnated bandages.
