SEISMIC DATA ACQUISITION AND PROCESSING USING NON-LINEAR DISTORTION IN A GROUNDFORCE SIGNAL

In a seismic data acquisition system that uses avibratory source an actual groundforce signal isrecorded. This groundforce signal includes, in additionto a reference sweep signal, noise including harmonicdistortion. This recorded groundforce signal is used toderive a filter that is used for filtering seismic datathat has been generated by the source and reflected bysubsurface reflectors to suitable detectors at thesurface. The filter is derived by dividing, in thefrequency domain, a short duration wavelet by the timederivative of the ground force signal.
