A computer system (10) and method for administering life safety programsincludes a database module (18) for storing maintenance, operation, andprogram implementation requirement information and actual maintenance,operation, and program implementation information for various pieces ofspecialized equipment. The computer system also includes a training andmaintenance module (16) that is operable to compare the actual informationwith the required information to determine if the various pieces ofspecialized equipment are being properly maintained and operated, and ifprograms associated with the various pieces of specialized equipment are beingproperly implemented. If not, the maintenance module generates a communicationto the user indicating that fact and provides the user with informationregarding the proper procedure to follow to bring the specialized equipmentand associated program into compliance with requirements.
