The composite pillar for a building has an outer sleeve (2) which is hollow cylindrical and made as a steel profile. It has an axial metal frame extending longitudinally (12) inside the sleeve, with a fixing (4) at one end (3) for connection to a beam. An abutment plate (6) is positioned at the other end. the interior of the sleeve is divided by the frame to form compartments filled with cement.
