The invention relates to a machine-tool (10), especially a universal milling machine, comprising a table (12) for fixing a workpiece to be machined in a horizontal machining plane, and a tool spindle (65) which is arranged in a pivoting plane perpendicular to the machining plane in such a way that it can be continuously pivoted between a vertical position and a horizontal position, on an orbit which goes around the table (12) which forms the centre. The tool spindle (65) is fixed to an arc segment (15) which can be guided on an arc in a first arc guide (14) in a displaceable manner. The aim of the invention is to create one such machine-tool (10) with a compact structure, simultaneously reducing the production and assembly means, and improving the accessibility to the working chamber. To this end, the first arc guide (14) has the form of a circular arc section surrounding the table (12) only on one side.
