The invention discloses location and expression patterns of genes associated with early embryo and endosperm development in iArabidopsis thaliana/i. Methods for identification of regulatory regions for this expression are disclosed as well as transgenic methods for using these regions in expression cassettes. Novel sequence tags for regions associated with enhancer trap insertions are also disclosed.
