Remedies for interstitial pneumonia containing, as the active ingredient, one or more members selected from among IL-18 and IL-2 inhibitors. A method of constructing an animal model of the above disease and a screening method with the use of the same. The above remedies inhibit the excessive expression of the functions of IL-18/IL-2 participating in the onset of interstitial pneumonia, and thus exert a therapeutic effect. The above animal model exhibits clinical findings closely similar to human cases and thus enables accurate screening of a drug expected as clinically efficacious.
