The invention concerns a novel method for screening recombinant polypeptides comprising at least a motif identifying mutated RNA (MRR) of a protein naturally RNA-binding, such as eIF3, said motif being capable of binding with the IRES sequence of a viral RNA molecule with affinity not lower than that of the motif (MRR) of said protein naturally binding said RNA molecule. The invention also concerns said recombinant polypeptides obtainable by the screening method for use as medicine for preventing and/or treating viral pathologies, in particular hepatitis C.
